Back Education/Injury Prevention
The physical and occupational therapists at Memorial Regional Hospital and Memorial Hospital West specialize in the treatment of back problems. Conditions which are commonly seen include herniated disks, spinal stenosis, degenerative joint and disc disease, spondylolisthesis, and neck and back sprains.
An evaluation is performed by the therapist that will establish a treatment plan which incorporates patient education and injury prevention. Each patient’s individual lifestyle, activities of daily living and personal goals are included in the planning. Therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and functional mobility training is provided along with instruction in proper posture and body mechanics.
